The CMA's two-year investigation into UK veterinary services concluded in March 2026. The findings are on the public record. Pet owners have, for the first time, the right to clear information on what treatments cost and where they can fill a prescription. CheckVetPrices is the consumer layer on top of that transparency.

When does CheckVetPrices launch?
CheckVetPrices launches across England in summer 2026. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland follow by the end of the year. International expansion to Australia and Canada begins in 2027. Waitlist members get early access in their area first.
What does it cost pet owners?
Nothing. The platform is free for pet owners to use. Clinic rankings and the Care Index are editorial - never paid for. Sponsored listings, when introduced, are clearly labelled and never affect ranking.
What is the Care Index?
A single score given to every UK clinic based on real owner reviews, pricing transparency, and care quality - so you can rank clinics in your area on what really matters.
Will my vet know I checked their prices?
No. The platform is anonymous for owners. Clinics see their own published pricing - the same pricing the CMA ruling now requires them to make available.
Why do you ask for my postcode?
So we can let you know when the platform goes live in your area, and so prescription price alerts are relevant to where you actually live. Your postcode is never shared with clinics, pharmacies, or any third party. Full detail in our privacy notice.
Can I get the CMA Rights Guide without joining the waitlist?
The plain-English guide is being prepared for launch day and is sent to waitlist members as part of the welcome programme. A public version will follow.
